London, 8 July, 2004: NCL has once again demonstrated how committed it is to its innovative Freestyle Cruising concept,” comments Steven Park, General Manager NCL UK. “In the last two weeks we have announced four new ships, all of which embody the Freestyle Cruising ideal. NCL has shattered the stuffy image of cruises of old, and has reinvented the cruise as a resort-like experience that offers something for everyone.

NORWEGIAN JEWEL TO BE DELIVERED IN AUGUST 2005
A new gem destined for Alaska and the Caribbean

London, 7 July, 2004: Norwegian Jewel, like her sister ships Norwegian Dawn and Norwegian Star, is a purpose-built Freestyle Cruising vessel, and fulfils NCL’s pledge to launch a new ship every year.
The addition of Norwegian Jewel means that NCL will be sailing a fleet of seven new ships in 2005, out of a total of 11, and 70% of her Guests will be sailing on state-of-the-art mega ships. Norwegian Jewel will launch in August 2005 and cruise in two of the industry’s biggest cruise markets: the Caribbean from Miami; and Alaska from Seattle.

Norwegian Jewel has the following:
• More guests – 2,400
• Increased cabin numbers – 1188 increased from 1112
• 10 new courtyard villas with a private courtyard and sundeck
• More interconnecting cabins for small or large families
• Sports deck containing basketball, volleyball and tennis court
• 10 restaurants offering the ultimate in at-sea dining choice, these will include:
• Cagney’s Steak House
• Blue Lagoon

Norwegian Jewel will be cruising from Miami in late Summer 2005, offering 7-night Eastern and Exotic Western Caribbean itineraries which can be packaged as a 14-night cruise & stay for the UK market. She will then be deployed in Alaska in Summer 2006.
With Norwegian Jewel sailing in Alaska, the Norwegian Spirit can be deployed to New York where it will join the Norwegian Dawn. This allows NCL to offer an unprecedented two ship year-round programme out of New York to the Caribbean. This will mean, from Winter 2005, NCL can offer cabins for 4,624 Guests out of New York every week, which will cater for huge demand there has been for this evocative departure port.

PRIDE OF AMERICA TO BE DELIVERED IN JUNE 2005
Inter-island Hawaiian cruises become even more accessible

London, 7th July 2004. Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that it had concluded negotiations with Lloyd Werft in Germany, its insurers and banks, and agreed a new delivery date for the Pride of America on 6th June 2005.
Pride of America was originally scheduled for delivery at the end of April 2004 but work was halted after an accident in the yard in January during which the ship took on water in a storm and sank up to deck three. The yard subsequently filed for receivership as a result of the accident and has been operating under the protection of a receiver since then.
Since January, the ship has been raised and salvage work on the damaged areas has been completed. Extensive discussions among NCL, Lloyd Werft – the underwriting syndicate that insured the casualty – NCL’s banks and Lloyd Werft’s banks have resulted in a detailed repair specification and a new work plan for completion of the vessel.
The repairs will be extensive and will be fully covered by the settlement reached with the insurers. The completion works represent a continuation of the contractual arrangements already in place between NCL and Lloyd Werft. NCL will fund the completion works as they are carried out and the total cost of the ship to NCL once delivered will not be materially different than originally budgeted.
Pride of America’s inaugural deployment and regular seven-day inter-island Hawaii schedule will be announced week commencing 12th July 2004 and go on sale shortly thereafter.
Details on Pride of America’s itineraries will be announced soon.

PRIDE OF HAWAII TO BE DELIVERED IN SUMMER 2006
Hawaiian fleet is increased to three ships

London, 7th July 2004. NCL has announced the name of its 2006 new ship delivery, Pride of Hawaii, as the latest addition to the NCL America programme and the seventh new Freestyle Cruising vessel to be purpose-built by NCL.
As a third US-flagged ship, following in the inaugural footsteps of Pride of Aloha - the first US-flagged ship in 50 years - and Pride of America, Pride of Hawaii will also cruise in Hawaii and doesn’t have to leave Hawaiian waters while cruising because of its US-flagged status.
Pride of Hawaii is the sister ship to the new Norwegian Jewel and shares many of the same characteristics:
• More guests – 2,400
• Increased cabin numbers – 1188 increased from 1112
• 10 new courtyard villas with a private courtyard and sundeck
• More interconnecting cabins for small or large families
• Sports deck containing basketball, volleyball and tennis court
• 10 restaurants offering the ultimate in at-sea dining choice, these will include:
• Cagney’s Steak House
• Blue Lagoon
• Le Bistro – NCL’s signature restaurant
• Asian sushi bar
• Teppanyaki table
• Pacific fusion restaurant

The interior decoration will highlight many key aspects of Hawaii’s history and culture and, like Norwegian Jewel, she will feature NCL’s latest standards in cabins with rich cherry wood finishing, refrigerators, tea and coffee makers in every room, larger bathrooms with separate WC, shower and washstand and compartments separated by sliding doors in the outside balcony and suite cabins.
Details on Pride of Hawaii’s itineraries will be announced shortly.
