NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE EXTENDS POPULAR
STAR SEEKER SEARCH TO CHILDREN Young performers can win a chance to be a featured London, August 5, 2003. Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) new Star Seeker talent show is already transforming its most talented adult guests into overnight stars. Now its the childrens turn: NCL has launched a Junior Star Seeker program for NCL guests 5 to 17 years old, and like their adult counterparts, they will have the chance to perform on an NCL ship as part of a professional variety show.
NCLs Junior Star Seeker program is offered as part of NCLs Kids Crew programme. The onboard Kids Crew youth coordinator will arrange Junior Star Seeker auditions, and if chosen, contestants will have a chance to wow their fellow Guests with a performance in one of their ships theatres. Junior Star Seekers will perform a three-minute routine showcasing their talent before a panel of judges consisting of the ships hotel and cruise directors, plus a musician and a guest performer from the ships entertainment staff. The judges will select winners based on each performers entertainment value and the audiences reaction. Individual winners will receive a specially designed Junior Star Seeker trophy, and a videotape of their performance will be sent to NCLs shore side headquarters for review by the entertainment department. NCL will then select one winner to perform a special spot as a featured entertainer aboard a future NCL cruise. The adult version of the program has been a huge success and our guests have been clamouring to let their kids take centre stage, said Keith Cox, vice president of entertainment and onboard programming for NCL. Some of the most talented performers are also some of the youngest and were pleased to give the UKs future stars a chance to exhibit their untapped talent aboard our ships.
