Boston Massachusetts

One of the great things about Boston is that it’s so walkable. So whether you’re into history and want to stroll the Freedom Trail past some of the city’s most notable sights, shopping, art galleries or visiting the fantastic New England Aquarium, it’s all just moments away. Why not come aboard the replica Boston Tea Party ship, or for something stronger that famous TV bar, Cheers!

Bar Habour Maine

Atop Cadillac Mountain, the highest spot on the Eastern Seaboard, the rays of the rising sun touch this place before any other in the U.S. And on island-dotted Penobscot Bay, little Bar Harbor wakes to another pristine day. Tall ships unfurl their sails and make for the open sea, while harbor seals, porpoises and whales play in the wide blue bay. Bar Harbor has been a haven for wealthy summer visitors since the 1880's. Today, much of the coastline is preserved in Acadia National Park.

Saint John (Bay of Fundy) New Brunswick

Salt air and sea winds lend a weathered look to the historic city of Saint John and nearby St. Andrews On-the-Sea, Canada’s oldest resort town. There are pretty fishing villages and lone lighthouses to explore, as well as an adventure you won’t want to miss – riding a jet boat through the rapids of the Reversing Falls, created when the Bay’s high tides cause the river to flow backwards.

Halifax Nova Scotia

Halifax was founded in 1749 and there’s history and heritage around every corner. Check out the city sights in a horse-drawn carriage or on the top deck of a British bus; immerse yourself in maritime history, including the city’s Titanic connection; or head out to scenic Peggy’s Cove with its lighthouse and brightly painted houses for a wonderful lobster lunch.

Sydney Nova Scotia

Sydney stands on Cape Breton Island, a place of natural, rugged beauty, which has echoes of the Scottish Highlands that gave the province its name. The tree-lined streets of the Old Town are dotted with buildings from the 18th and 19th-centuries, while inland the landscape of mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers are just waiting to be explored.

Quebec City Quebec

Protected by the looming spires of the venerable Chateau Frontenac, Quebec City's Lower Town crowds the narrow shore of the St. Lawrence river. Above the cliffs, in Upper Town, Quebec's provincial capital goes about the daily business of government, but here, in narrow cobblestoned streets bordered by 17th-century stone houses, you feel like you're in the heart of medieval Europe.
