The atmosphere amongst the passengers was fantastic

In Dec. 2006 on the N.Pearl, on her maiden voyage from Southamton to Miami, the weather was bad, and I mean bad, especially the few first days out of Southamton, hurricane winds, and most of the voyage the outside decks were closed off for passenger safety. But the atmosphere amongst the passengers in the different bars/lounges/public roms onboard were fantastic, one sat down had a drink and a cigarette and before long somebody came along and started talking and you met up again the following days/nights of the cruise. Marvellous experience, like being home.

Magical

Our first NCL cruise and the welcome aboard drink at Dover was a lovely surprise. We had booked a mini suite and weren't disappointed. We had lots of space and a lovely comfy bed. We had worried about the restaurants and seating as we like time for ourselves at our own table and NCL we discovered was the BEST ever for giving us this. We rarely had to wait and when we did visited the champagne bar and enjoyed the music and drink. Cheese and olives appeared without us asking as the staff knew what we liked after the first visit.

The port visits were super and the blue lagoon in Iceland was a not to be missed experience, swimming in warm water while snow falling. Magical. Even on sea days there was plenty to do, I visited the spa and the therapist was very professional and worth every penny. We also saw dolphins regularly and while having lunch one day a whale. How cool eating my lunch whilst whale watching at the window. The freedom NCL offer actually works very well. People dressed up and people dressed down and we still all blended in happily. There weren't many English aboard, they don't realise what they are missing and talking to other nationalities especially Americans was a great enriching experience. Will we go with NCL again, as soon as possible!

A wonderful cruise

1st transatlantic cruise on Norwegian Jewel. She was brand new and the Waves were very rough near St John's but she was wondefully stable. Had a wonderful cruise, especilly enjoyed the Tapanyaki Resteraunt it was amazing. All much better than the QM2 which we sailed back to the UK on

The Gem was a Gem

The Gem was a Gem. The dining arrangements were fantastic - having the ability to eat with who you want, when you want and where you want was brilliant! The stateroom was lovely and the service was top notch. I can't wait to go again - not long now (April 09). NCL has found a niche in the market and filled it perfectly. As a young couple, we feel that we have a cruise line for us that offers the same level of quality, yet features that appeal to a younger crowd. Thanks
