Dress up, dress down...it's your choice

Dress up, dress down...it's your choice. I’m going glam tonight. Well, I’m not wearing a suit and tie. Problem? No problem. You see the great thing about NCL’s dress code is that we don’t really have one. You’re on holiday and you want to feel comfortable, so think resort casual, the kind of thing you might wear at a chic land-based resort. And naturally, when you’d rather dress to the nines in black tie or evening dress, then go right ahead. Shorts and swimwear for dinner? Maybe not, but we didn’t think you would anyway.

NCL Freestyle Disembarkation
NCL Freestyle Disembarkation

We hate to see you go and that’s why, whenever possible and when local immigration procedures and airport transfer times allow, we offer NCL Freestyle Disembarkation.

Instead of the usual queues and hassle you might get with other cruise lines, relax over breakfast, take a stroll on deck, swap e-mail addresses with those great people you met and disembark when you like. OK, so it has to be by 10am but you know what they say about ‘all good things’.

At your service

Service is important, so we like to make sure there’s almost one crew member for every stateroom on board our ships and that’s the highest crew to guest ratio in our class. But you can forget the facts and just enjoy the kind of friendly, easy going, unobtrusive yet totally professional service that makes a difference to your day.

Service Charge & Gratuities (tips made easy)
Gratuities Made Easy

The giving of gratuities to the crew members who serve you on board ship is a cruising tradition, a way of saying thank you for the exceptional service and personal attention you receive. In the past, it was customary to tip your cabin steward, dining room waiter and their assistant in cash at the end of the cruise. We appreciate that some people feel a little uncomfortable about this type of tipping so at NCL, we’ve made it easier.

A service charge applicable to your cruise (currently £6.50 per person, per day, no charge for children under three) will be added to your holiday price and shown separately on your confirmation invoice. If you do not wish to pay it this way, you must tell us at the time of booking or at any time up to two weeks before departure and we will arrange for the charge to be added to your shipboard account for payment at the end of your cruise.

If you have any concerns about the service you receive during your cruise, please let our on-board reception desk staff know right away. Our clear priority is to have the opportunity to resolve your issue to your satisfaction as quickly as possible and that any necessary adjustments be made toward that goal.

In addition, a suggested gratuity of 15% is automatically added to all drink bills and 18% added for all spa and salon bills. You may, if you wish to reward a particular individual, add an additional tip to these bills; however, there is no obligation to do so.
