Snuba Experience

Take the plunge! Go beyond snorkeling with the Bermuda SNUBA experience. SNUBA is a patented shallow-water diving system that combines the simplicity and ease of snorkeling with the excitement of diving, and allows you the opportunity to experience the wonders of breathing underwater without the additional weight of cumbersome dive gear. SNUBA requires no previous dive or snorkeling experience. Certified dive professionals will train you in the proper procedures necessary to experience the underwater paradise. After a short leisurely walk to the dive site you will receive instruction in shallow water, then you will take a guided dive to observe the coral and marine life. After your SNUBA experience, you will have time to relax at the beach and enjoy a complimentary beverage. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and weigh no more than 250 lbs. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women or individuals who require heart medication. Those who have asthma, diabetes, or epilepsy will not be allowed to participate. Participation is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Medical Questionnaire. Travel around the picturesque Harrington Sound with its beautiful bays and coves. En route you'll view charming pastel-colored homes with distinctive architecture. Highlights include admission to the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo where you can see everything from chattering cockatoos to tiny seahorses, over 75 species of fish, pink flamingos and much more. Also included in your tour is admission to the beautiful limestone crystal caves, where you'll have the rare opportunity to view wondrous formations of stalactites and stalagmites. For those not wishing to journey the 81 steps into the caves, the gardens around this area are beautifully manicured and are a great spot to relax or browse the gift shop. Get an introduction to Bermuda's marine life, with snorkeling and beach time. This shoreline cruise takes you to the pristine Sea Gardens, and the shipwreck of the Vixen, a fantastic habitat for a variety of fish and other marine life. Our jet-powered, glass-bottom boat allows you to view it all, up-close, in safe, dry comfort. Then we head for one of the many small beaches that line the western islands. After anchoring, take some time to snorkel and explore the shoreline in search of colorful parrotfish. Walk ashore to the beach or just relax on board and enjoy a complimentary drink. This scenic tour will acquaint you with the historic Royal Naval Dockyard and surrounding areas of Ireland Island. You'll pass by the old and new prisons, the Commissioner's House, the Old Naval Cemetery, Black Bay, Parsons Bay, and the local fisherman's area. Travel past the site where movies such as "The Deep" and "Bermuda Depths" were filmed and take a glimpse at the residential area on the return ride. Your tour route is filled with native vegetation and flowers, all of which will be pointed out and described by your knowledgeable guide. The horses are really old nags that have seen the war and can find their way around blindfolded. Note: Participants 16 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Guests must be able to board the carriage on their own. The tour stops by the Clocktower Centre on the return and guests can depart the tour at that point if they desire. Guests who depart the tour at this point will have to make their own return to the ship.

After a short shuttle to the beach site and after receiving some safety instructions, you'll board your stable sit-on-top double kayaks for a fully-guided and narrated shoreline tour. Your guide will pick the best location and tour route where you'll enjoy views of rocky coastlines, uninhabited islands and beaches. Along the way your guide will point out coastline creatures such as Bermuda long tails, egrets, herons, and various crustaceans. Following your kayak tour you'll have the opportunity to swim, relax at the beach, and enjoy a complimentary refreshment before your return transportation. Meet your guide and small intimate group in the town of St. George's. Experience an official UNESCO World Heritage Site on this fully narrated tour of the islands of St. George and St. David. Drive along narrow, winding back roads of the historic 'Ol Towne of St. George's. Visit Bermuda's oldest fort and explore as you meander through the dark passageways of this grand fortress. The next stop allows a moment to take in the stunning simplicity of St. Peter's Church, the oldest Anglican church in the western hemisphere. Just a short stroll across the alleyway is the Bermuda Perfumery, a 17th century heritage trust home, with its fascinating open wooden beam ceilings and old-world architecture. On adjacent St. David's Island, you'll discover the charm of this enchanting community, once occupied by the former Base Lands of the US Navy. A picture stop is included at St. David's Lighthouse, which stands on the highest point on the eastern tip of the island, sending its beam 20 miles over the ocean. Your tour will continue along the island's coastline, passing the island's oldest limestone house, Carter House, and top beaches of the east end of the island, Clearwater and Turtle Beach. The tour will end at the cruise ship terminal and includes your round-trip ferry ticket from the cruise ship port, Dockyard. Step aboard a comfortable and stable catamaran for a trip to the northernmost coral reef in the world. Relax on deck and enjoy complimentary soft drinks while the crew provides informative commentary on the island and the fascinating undersea ecosystem. After an approximate 45 minute cruise you will find yourself moored in a magical deep blue oasis, bordered by fringe reef on nearly all sides. Here, you will be given a mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy vest and instruction on how you may best enjoy the undersea paradise. Come aboard the 70-foot party style fishing boat "Jolly Roger" and join your knowledgeable local Captain and crew, who will take you to some of the best fishing spots around Bermuda. Catch some sun on the upper deck and as you arrive at your destination, the boat drops anchor and you put out your lines to the bottom. You will be provided with light spinning tackle, bait and any instruction you may need to hook into some snappers, triggerfish, jacks or any other of the countless species that abound Bermuda's waters. The Jolly Roger fishes in protected waters within the reef where it's relatively calm – no ocean swell means less chance of sea sickness. Bring some enthusiasm and a little luck and your captain and crew will take care of the rest for a memorable and exciting trip! Join your local driver/guide for a picturesque drive of Bermuda's famous South Shore as you head into the capital city of Hamilton for some Front Street boutique shopping. Depart your ship in Dockyard for a scenic drive through Somerset Village, over Somerset Drawbridge, the smallest drawbridge in the world built in 1620. View Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, which is alleged to be one of the oldest cast iron lighthouses in the world. Your drive continues along the South Shore where you'll make a brief stop to view the pink sand beaches, azure blue waters and the barrier reef system that surrounds the island. Your tour concludes in the capital city of Hamilton, where you can choose to return to the ship via the public ferry or shop along famed Front Street, known for its boutiques shops or explore on your own. Note: Maximum weight for each participant, including wheelchair, is 500 pounds. Wheelchair access may be limited and a minimum participation is required in order for the tour to operate – for details, please consult your Shore Excursion staff before booking. Guests wishing to utilize a wheelchair (manual or electric) on this excursion must provide the Shore Excursions Department with the total dimensions (height, length and width) and weight of the electric scooter or wheelchair at the time of booking. Enjoy a coastal sightseeing cruise around the many islands once known as the 'Devil's Isles' to a calm water snorkel site. Here, your dive master will provide you with instruction on how to operate your Aqua Power Scooter and snorkel equipment. Skim near the surface faster than you can swim, or dive down to take a closer look. Glide past sea fans, coral and an array of marine life. After your power snorkel experience you'll have time to enjoy more snorkeling, or lounge with a complimentary beverage at the secluded calm water beach. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age and weigh no more than 240 lbs. This tour is not recommended for those with heart conditions or asthma.
