How do I book shore excursions?

Once you’ve booked your cruise, click on the “Ready to pre-book your Shore Excursions” button on the right hand side of this page.

Then click on “Log In to My NCL”. Login using your username and password, or if you are a new user, create an account.

Once you’re logged in, you should see a summary of your booked cruise(s). Click the button for “Shore Excursions”. If this button is not clickable, you may need to wait until at least 60 days prior to you cruise date. Once you click through to the Shore Excursions page, you should see each port offering Shore Excursions for every day of your cruise itinerary. Click through each port city to find out more information and pre-book excursions for each guest travelling.

Juneau Hatchery & Mendenhall Glacier

This tour provides an outstanding overview of the state's capital city and its scenic attractions, including one of the world's only drive-to glaciers, the Mendenhall. Your guided tour drives you through Juneau's picturesque downtown. Visit the Mendenhall Glacier, a moving river of ice with rugged crevasses and a distinctive blue color. Stroll the walkways to the Visitor Center and take in one of the glaciology exhibits, an interpretive talk with a Forest Service Ranger, or simply enjoy the panoramic view of the glacier. Afterward, your drive takes you to Juneau's Macaulay Salmon Hatchery and Visitor Center. Note: This tour operates under a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service. Whale Watching & Wildlife Quest

Following a short drive to scenic Auke Bay, you'll board a water jet-powered catamaran specially designed for wildlife viewing. Relax in the warm and spacious main cabin with large windows, as your experienced Captain guides you through the waters of Stephen's Passage. This area is a favorite summer feeding ground for humpback whales. Once the whales have been sighted, your Captain will gently maneuver the vessel to allow exceptional viewing and photographic opportunities. Against a backdrop of snowcapped peaks, the onboard naturalist will explain the behavior and habitat of wildlife you may encounter, including sea lions, porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles and black-tailed deer. Mendenhall Glacier By Helicopter & Guided Walk

Flying high above wetland habitat, Alpine ridges and lush rainforests, you'll gain new appreciation for this rugged land as your pilot shares a lively narrative. As you approach the Icefield and its many glaciers, you'll marvel at the twisted spires, deep blue crevasses and carved peaks that make up this ancient landscape. Soaring even higher, you may pass the Mendenhall Towers - jagged rock sentinels that climb more than 7,000 feet - and the spectacular icefalls that overflow to form the Mendenhall Glacier. View icefalls, spires, and the many hanging glaciers suspended on the surrounding mountainsides before a gentle landing on this slowly moving river of ice and explore the glaciers' surface with your expert glacier guide. See and understand how glaciers form, flow and carve out the landscape. Enjoy complimentary beverages when you return to the helicopter base and discuss this inspirational experience. Note: Flight time is approximately 30 minutes, with an approximately 20-25 minute landing on the glacier. This tour operates under a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service. This means you'll be flying in a helicopter or small plane. The FAA needs a list of passenger names and their exact weights before check in (no fibbing because it's for official calculations). If you weigh 250 lbs or more (with all your clothes on), an extra charge is added and you are allotted two seats. Participants must be at least two years of age.

Combine a Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure and the Juneau City & Mendenhall Glacier tour, and you will truly experience the best of Juneau. Upon arrival at Glacier Gardens you'll be met by your tour guide who will escort you to an exquisite atrium full of beautiful hanging baskets in full bloom. Enjoy a guided tour from covered shuttles into the rainforest. Along the way your guide will provide narrative during the mile long journey to the 580-foot level. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Mendenhall wetlands, Gastineau Channel, Douglas Island, Auke Bay, Stephen's Passage, Admiralty Island and the Chilkat Mountain Range from the viewpoint on Thunder Mountain. The next stop is the mighty Mendenhall Glacier, a moving river of ice with rugged crevasses and a distinctive blue color that appears deceptively close because of its immense size. Travel through Juneau's downtown to the Mendenhall Glacier. Stroll the many walkways or enjoy the Visitor Center, then board your motorcoach for a trip to a traditional Alaskan Salmon Bake. At the Gold Creek Salmon Bake, wild Alaskan caught salmon is grilled over an open alderwood fire. Enjoy the Bonanza barbecued ribs, Cheechako baked chicken, Chilkoot baked beans, Tongass wild-rice pilaf, a variety of fresh salads, corn bread, blueberry cake, and lemonade, coffee or tea. Retrace the route used by Joe Juneau and Richard Harris in their search for gold. Near the famous Alaska-Juneau gold mine, one of the world's largest hard rock mining operations, you'll have a chance to pan for gold. Juneau Sportsfishing

Troll for salmon aboard a fully equipped 28-40-foot charter boat, complete with fish finders and downriggers. All rods are firmly secured in rod holders, so you don't even have to hold them. With just four to six passengers per boat, you'll enjoy ideal conditions for fishing. For an additional charge, your catch can be flash frozen or smoked and shipped to your home (U.S. only). Note: Actual fishing duration is approximately 3 1/2 hours. We recommend participants wear rubber-soled shoes. Alaska State Law requires a fishing license which can be purchased in cash on the fishing boat for $20. During king salmon season, you must purchase an additional $10 tag. Fish cannot be stored on board the ship.
